This time around we had two videos entered... so make your choice!

Decorating the Tree - Tabitha
Family: The Priceless Gift - Danielle and Mandy

And now for the VC4 details.

Genre - You choose
Topic - Christmas
Mood - Serious

The deadline is December 30th.

A refresher on the rules:
- You may use past productions, so long as they have never been entered into a CMF Video Contest before.
- You must stay within the guidelines of the topic.
- You must use discernment and include nothing that would be potentially defiling or offensive in your video.
- Voting will be based on how well the entrant presented the topic in the genre style chosen, both in content and in technical quality.
- You are allowed only one vote, so when voting time comes around, please make sure that you have watched every video and make your selection according to what the purpose of the contest is. We've got to keep these contests focused on things that matter. This is NOT some sort of YouTube feature contest just to make movies about whatever catches our eyes!
- When you enter your video, please make sure to tell me if you have a website/blog you want your name linked to!

Have fun, and Merry Christmas!

Soooo...where are the rest of the videos??? I have noticed a trend towards LOTS of comedy and FEW serious films Confused

I had a good idea for this one just not enough time - because I was working on a video for the next contest Wink

But...c'mon people ONLY 2!?!?! That's pathetic Shocked especially considering how many were submitted last time.

BTW - great work to both submission this time Cool

Well, you know, the closer to Christmas the busier people get! Confused
Actually we had a great idea for a comedy, but we all got sick and lost about a week and a half. Crying or Very sad We also had a huge storm up here in our area and our power was out for 3 days...
Ok, enough excuses!
Great job girls! Very Happy
Oh, and congratulations Danielle and Mandy! Very Happy

Yeah, I noticed that, too, John-Clay..... Confused Unfortunately, I don't think I'll even have the time to make the one I was planning on entering in the VC4, with all the LACP editing going on. Sad But as soon as the rush for that is over, I'll be able to have time to make some things, Lord willing.

Oh, I had a kinda cool idea today for a video contest in a couple months... Not sure if it'll work though. What would y'all think of a short feature contest (a month long deal)? I would be happy to supply some small prizes for the top two or three winners.... What do you think?

And yes, congratulations to the Moodys! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Well, from what I would figure, a short would be from five to twenty or so minutes in length, whereas a short feature would be anywhere from twenty to an hour. Maybe I'm wrong on that, maybe I'm just making a whole new category....

So if enough people think it's a great idea, it might be something worth spreading the word about, and if it's a success perhaps even have another one with some better prizes... Just a thought. Hehe, we might be starting our own film festival! :-P

The problem I'm having trouble with though is with a longer length film, uploading services (YouTube, GodTube) usually have a time limit (like 30 minutes) on the videos. I guess I could probably host the videos on my own server or something, but I'm not sure yet..

Well, once again I would rather vote for all of them instead of just one. Since I have to choose - uhhhh - there, I voted. Good job!

Want to know a secret - our family still hasn't decorated the tree yet. Shocked

Thanks for pointing that one out! So how does it work? Do you basically get 500 MB with an account? And can you embed videos?

What are the file size and duration limits on what videos I can upload?
The only limit is 500 MB per week, which resets on Sundays at 12am CST. There is no duration limit.

How do I embed or share a video?

Put your mouse over the video itself and you will see the buttons for these features. Watch here, and here.

-Can you tell I really want you to use it? Laughing

Aaahhhhh, okay. I'm assuming that you're on vimeo then; does the 500 MB limit being reset every week delete your videos? How does that work?

well, no I'm not actually on it (as I don't have any videos yet), but my brother is. Wink

no they do not delete your videos every week. Laughing , it's like they just give you 500 more megabytes every week. (If that makes it clearer)
